As I created my reel for 2024, I wanted the intro and outro of the video to embody the identity of a designer I strive to be. A designer that provides brisk, satisfying, and whimsical solutions like a can of soda for the clients and challenges I face.

I used both my Korean and English name to show my bicultural background, and meaningful dates to me. I was inspired by [Love, Death, and Robot]'s intro.

Seeing the music and the visuals clicking together as I made progress was very satisfying. It was like choreographing a hip-hop dance performance on a digital stage. Especially experimenting with the typography animation on the can, it felt as if there was a stage within a stage, adding more layers to the piece.

Something I would like to improve if I were to create something similar is the 2D frame elements at 04:00 ~ 05:00. Currently, it feels empty compared to other parts of the video. This could've been a good opportunity to emphasize my initials, which is on the can opener or add more of geometric morphing movements to continue to the flow of the animation.
